The Cost of Marching Band

Marching band is an optional ensemble.  There is a band fee required for each student participating in the FMC.  If there is an issue with paying the fee, please contact the MCPA president or Mr. Boyd by the end of August.  We don't want to exclude any student.  This fee is used to help offset the expenses of running the FMC, including summer training, uniforms, travel, instructors, the chuck wagon, etc.  Included in your packet is the MCPA Marching Agreement.  This breaks down the cost and payment plans for the marching band fee.  The fee must be paid in installments per the agreement.  However, you may also earn Family Obligation Points (FOPS) to assist in paying this fee.  As you continue reading on, you will find many opportunities that will help offset this financial obligation.

What Are FOPS??

Family Obligation Points (FOPS) are points you "earn" from working Bingo and from various fundraisers throughout the year.  These FOPS can be used to reduce your child's fee as well as most of the cost of spring trip.

Earning FOPS not only allows you an opportunity to reduce your monetary output to the program, but it also ensures we can continue to maintain the caliber of the program we currently have.

Our FOPS system is maintained by our FOPS coordinator, Mischelle Keller.  She tracks all FOPS earned and payments towards the annual fees.  All monies toward fees and uniform replacement costs must be put in the FOPS box.  The FOPS box is in the brass room.  When depositing payments, please note the name of the student and what the money is for (fees, gloves, etc.).  This will ensure that proper credit is given.
