Bingo has been the primary fundraiser for the Marching Cavaliers Parents Association (MCPA) in their support of the Fabulous Marching Cavaliers since the 90’s.
BINGO IS THE MCPA’S MAIN SOURCE OF REVENUE! This fundraiser has allowed the MCPA to provide the FMC with instructors, bus rentals, other travel expenses, uniforms, show drill, competition fees, equipment, show props, food, etc. It is also used to offset some of the cost associated with the annual spring trip.
The MCPA’s Bingo game must have full participation from its parents. Each family has been assigned a team and this commitment is year round. On average each team works once a month. Each band member must have at least one adult volunteer (parent or other family member) work all assigned bingo sessions. The adult volunteer is responsible for finding a replacement if they are unable to work their assigned session.
The team system allows us to continue running a successful bingo and profitable game.
The bingo game runs from 12 midnight until about 3:30 am every Friday evening. This is actually an ideal game for us, as we have competitions on Saturdays and many families have other obligations on Sundays. Our bingo game is at the Bingo Palace, 444 South Lynnhaven Road, Virginia Beach, VA. We start selling bingo packs and instants at 11:00 pm. We ask that volunteers show up between 10 and 10:30 pm to assist in setting up for the evening. Thank you for your assistance with the continued success of the MCPA Bingo!
