The FMC Study Hall

Good grades are the reason the students attend Princess Anne High School.  Mr. Boyd recognizes that the unusual rehearsal times may be viewed as a problem for some students, but these hours should be looked at as an opportunity instead!  The 5 PM to 8 PM schedule is in place so that students may do their homework after school, while their content is still "fresh" in their minds, vs. doing homework after a 3 hour marching practice, while eating dinner, while doing the things necessary to get ready for the next day!

Because some students live far from the school, and because some students need the extra help, PA Bands runs an After-school Study Hall in the PA Band Room every day we have rehearsal (both during the Marching Season as well as the Concert Season).  Students may use this time to get help from a teacher after school, work with peers in the band that share the same classes, get help from older students, or work by themselves.  The atmosphere of the Band Room is one of quiet from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM (Study Hall hours).  Students may not leave campus once they have reported for Study Hall and may not eat or drink in the Band Room.  All these activities must be completed before the student reports for Study Hall.
